Welcome to the Forest and Valley Open Studios Art and Craft Trail your online resource to connect with the best artists, craft makers and arts tutors in the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley.
Here we showcase the wealth of creativity by some of the top artists within Forest of Dean & Wye Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty covering Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Herefordshire counties and, we think, one of the most beautiful areas of Britain.
Throughout the year we showcase our artists work on their home pages. Use the Artist/Makers tab to see the fabulous breadth of work they create. In July each year our headline Open Studios event sees our artists throw open their studio doors to the public so you visit, chat and find out what inspires them.
This year our artists’ studios will be open between 9TH to 24TH JULY. Many of our artists offer arts and craft making courses as well and most studios will be pleased to welcome you throughout the year - by prior arrangement. New members are added all the time so bookmark us or, better still, sign up for our occasional newsletter for all the latest news and important dates. We also hold special events and exhibitions during the year – another reason to keep in touch.
Everything you need to take part is just one click away. See the links at the bottom of the page to request our simple forms and get involved and have your work promoted via our web and effective social media. If you would like to volunteer to help the event please get in touch.
Dates for July 2016 are 9th to 24th July. All of our artists will be open for the three weekends and many will be open in-between. Check their home pages for details. Our 2016 brochure will be available to download and in information points soon. For the time being, please enjoy the work on our artists’ pages and unlock a world of creativity from the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley. Why not have a break and read our artists’ blog page.

This year we have an exciting announcement. We will be awarding £100 to ten artists who are chosen by our independent curator group to exhibit work on our challenging theme of "Are the natural resources of our forest's merely a commodity". Time is tight, so if you wish to be considered for entry for a new or existing work - ask for our application form using the button COMMISSION below. If, and it's a big if, we are granted Arts Council Funding we will be expanding this initiative so keep in touch.
